Program Description
1. Class Types
Preliminary Class: for beginners
Intermediate Class: for learners with a vocabulary of 500-600 words, or with a level of HSK3
2. Course Objectives
A: After one semester of learning, preliminary students can master about 600 Chinese characters. They can use Chinese to conduct simple and direct communication on familiar daily topics. They can use Chinese to complete basic communication tasks in life, study, work, etc. When traveling in China, they can cope with most of the communication tasks they encounter (equivalent to HSK2-3 level).
B: After one semester of learning, intermediate students can master about 1200 commonly used words; have good daily listening and speaking skills and basic reading and writing skills; can use Chinese to discuss topics in a wider range of fields; can communicate with native speakers fluently. (Equivalent to HSK4).
3. Course Curriculum
A: The preliminary class offers subjects such as Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Practice, Chinese Character, Chinese listening, Chinese Speaking, etc., with a duration of one semester (20 weeks) and approximately 28 class hours per week.
B: The intermediate class offers subjects such as Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Practice, Chinese Character, Chinese listening, Chinese Speaking, etc., with a duration of one semester (20 weeks) and approximately 28 class hours per week.
